Cooke Aquaculture Pacific NPDES permits modifications to raise steelhead

We invite you to review and comment on the draft modified National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System water quality permits for Cooke Aquaculture Pacific. The modification would allow Cooke to raise steelhead instead of Atlantic salmon at the Hope Island, Fort Ward, Orchard Rocks, and Clam Bay net pen facilities.

Visit our individual net pen permits webpage for more information and to review documents.

Each facility has a current permit. This request is only a modification to change the species being raised. Our determination will not extend the life of the permits, which expire in 2024. The current permits were originally issued to allow for two years of closure activities and monitoring after their facilities aquatic lands leases expire in 2022.
